Day 1. Arrival - Château Manoir 4*
Meet at the Buisson Cadouin rail station or go to the Manoir Bellerive 4*. Depending on your arrival time, you can go to the stables or directly to your hotel. The Manor house is a house of style "directoire" built in 1840, then reshaped by Napoleon III who wished to offer it to Hortense, one of his lovers. It is surrounded by a luxurious and flowered English-style park with tercentenaries trees. The restaurant proposes a very nice cook with the the flavors of Perigord, at the same time traditional and creative. Night in the Manor house.
Day 2. Beynac - Castle 3* - 5 hour horse riding
Meet the horses and start riding along the Vezere river, on the towpath, up to the Promeyssac caves. Go through typical villages and after a few canters, arrive at the beautiful Monrecour estate for the night. Dine in Beynac, an historical village perched on the top of a limestone cliff.
Day 3. Sarlat - Luxury hotel 4* - 5 ½ hour riding
Depending on departure time, visit the Beynac castle before going back down to the Dordogne river bank, and all the way up to the Castelnaud castle and the fortified town of Domme, offering a stunning view over the valley. The day will end in Sarlat, capital town of the Perigord Noir, where the narrow cobblestone streets reveal a thousand years of architecture. Enjoy the indoor heated swimming pool and sauna of the Clos de la Boétie hotel before dinning in one of the old town’s restaurant.
Day 4. Les Eyzies - Charming & Luxury hotel 3* - 5 ½ hour riding
The day trip takes us to the medieval town of Vitrac, with a lunch break at the Campagnac Castle. In the afternoon, we will ride among the “Cabanes de Breuil”, these ancient gallo-roman stone huts, also called “Bories”, date back from the seventh century. A few good canters on the sandy soils of the chestnut forests will take us to the Commarque castle known as “the forbidden fortress” (Optional visit). On the evening, we will arrive at Les Eyzies, world capital of prehistory.
Gourmet dinner and overnight in the elegant country house hotel Les Glycines.
Day 5. Trémolat - Relais & Château hotel 4* - 5 ½ hour riding
Before the ride, you will have the opportunity to visit the Fondegomme caves or Les Eyzies’ national museum of Prehistory. We will then go along the Vézère river bank, crossing the village of Le Bugue before reaching Vaudune though steep paths. Then, we will go back down the Dordogne valley to arrive in Trémolat.
Gourmet dinner and overnight in the warm and cosy Relais & Château hotel “Le Vieux Logis”.
Day 6. 3 ½ hour riding - End of the horseback ride
Following the Dordogne river bank, we will reach St Genies and Paunat, an authentic village nested in a little valley around its thousand-year-old abbey-church. The trip will end with a lunch in the park of La Vitrole Castle.
Individual departure of participants or possible transfer to the SNCF train stations in Le Buisson or Périgueux.
Barb, Arabian and Portuguese breed horses, living outdoors all year.
Trained for trekking and endurance race, they are calm, comfortable and energetic. These horses with healthy minds will be perfect for long day rides and amazing canters.

Your guide is not only a professional horse rider but also an expert of the region.
He knows well all tracks possibilities and will be able to modify the itinerary according to weather conditions and group level, in order to satisfy everyone.
The stables are located right next to the meeting point, not far from Limeuil.
Horses stay in fields around the farm and spend the winter in the larger surrounding fields. Stalls are only used to feed the horses and prepare them. Some stalls are also available to participants who would like to join the trek with their own horse.

Average summer temperatures range from 25°C to 35°C. Sun shines most days even if a few storms might break and freshen the atmosphere.
Because of the oceanic influence, autumns and winters are generally mild and humid, with rare periods of very cold weather.
